Award winning wine:
2 Glasses, Gambero Rosso 2011

A gorgeously flavourful white wine from this esteemed Barolo producer.

This is a traditional yet unfashionable wine of the Langhe hills. Using an unusual local grape variety which has long been neglected due to the conversion of so many vineyards to Nebbiolo production for the famous Barolo.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant straw yellow with golden hints. Fine and elegant nose of wild flowers and aromatic herbs, with some citrus and exotic fruit added in the mouth. Pleasant, warm and balanced body.

Food matching
Good accompaniment to vegetable-based dishes; also white meat, fish and fresh light cheese.

Winemaking Notes
Grapes from vineyards in the Langhe hills at an altitude of over 350 metres above sea level. Harvest at the end of September. 70% of the wine remains in steel vats for 6 months while 30% is matured in French barriques. The blended wine is then allowed to rest in bottle another few months prior to release.
