Lovely fresh and fruity wine from the grape variety which makes the famous Soave.
Selaed under screwcap, this is a great picnic/garden wine.
New Zealand winemaker Matt Thomson sources good quality grapes from selected vineyards to the north-east of Verona and controls the winemaking process to end up with a nicely rounded wine with some almond flavours characteristic of the Garganega grape variety.
Tasting Notes
Clear pale straw in colour with a delicately aromatic nose. Perfumes of peaches and honeysuckle. Light to medium-bodied on the palate with an attractive peachy character.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were hand-harvested, destemmed, crushed and pumped without sulphur addition. The juice was chilled immediately and settled naturally. Cultured yeasts added for fermentation at a temperature of 12-14C. These relatively low fermentation temperatures help preserve the fresh fruit character of the grapes. Matured in temperature-controlled steel vats until bottling.
