Fabulously flavoured deep red from the Dolomites.
The Campo Rotaliano is a wide plain of the Adige Valley as it breaks out from the high mountains. Here, Elisabetta Foradori has led the way in the quality improvement of wines made from the local Teroldego grape variety. Her eponymous wine is derived from grapes grown on specially selected sites comprising alluvial soils laced with pebbles and gravel.
Tasting Notes
Floral notes on the nose; big sweet dark fruit flavours with spicy tones underlying. Pleasant soft tannins in a long satisfying finish.
Food matching
Perhaps not quite robust enough for beef, but too much for chicken unless roasted with all the trimmings; good wine for sausages, venison, lamb and game.
Winemaking Notes
Fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Maturation for 12 months in small oak casks.
