A delicious and unique wine from the Dolomites.
The Kerner grape is a hybrid of Riesling and Schiava varieties. Here it produces a beautifully rich-flavoured wine which retains the crisp freshness of the mountains.
This winery's Celestino Lucin has just been awarded the prestigious title of Oenologist of the Year in the new 2009 edition of the major annual wine guide published by Gambero Rosso.
Tasting Notes
Steely mineral aromas with notes of fresh lemons and citrus stalk. The palate attack is rich and textured with a very fresh clean mineral finish, a finish that has great length. Apple and citrus combined with limestone notes persist.
Food Matching
Fine match for antipasti, even with elaborate sauces, also shellfish.
Winemaking Notes
Grapes harvested mid-October from vines approx 600m above sea level. Vinified in steel. After fermentation, maturation in bottle for 6 months before release to market.
