A deliciously soft, award-winning yet well-priced red wine from this estate's vineyards in Umbria. Vitiano is a fruit-forward wine, easy on the palate yet rich and satisfying.
This estate is run by the Cotarella brothers, of whom Riccardo has found fame as a consultant winemaker around Italy and beyond.
Tasting Notes
Luscious aromatic fragrance. Deep intense ruby red colour with important, solid and wide organoleptic qualities. Fresh tasty acidity. Serve at 18-19ºC.
Winemaking notes
Grapes: 33% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Sangiovese.
Equal proportion of the three different grape varieties. Long maceration on skins with a lot of pumping ovr and hand pressing. Fermentation in stainless steel for 20 days; malolactic fermentation totally carried out. Just 3 months of oak ageing in new barriques to give this wine added depth.
