2004 Lagrein Alto Adige DOC

Lagrein is a grape variety which makes lovely spicy firm-bodied wines, rich in minerals gleaned from the mountain slopes of this northernmost region of Italy.

This delicious red wine is a product of a working monastery. And what fine work it is too!

Tasting Notes
Dark red shades with a vibrant red berry fruit bouquet. Spicy yet elegant in the mouth, with a soft velvet-like body, showing light soft tannins on the finish.

Food Matching
Game, fowl, lighter red meats, cured cheeses.

Winemaking Notes
This wine comprises 70% of the winery's output.
Fermented in steel tanks and matured in a combination of steel and large wooden barrels. Serve at 18-20C.
