This Amarone comes from the Maso Laito farm located at Montecchio di Negrar in the heart of Valpolicella’s Classico zone. The continental climate is mitigated by the proximity of Lake Garda, which ensures a particularly favourable environment for the cultivation of olives as well as vines. This hilly area is formed by limestone from which are derived soils of a clay composition. Compact rock located about half a metre below the surface curbs the vines’ vigour, which favours the formation of loosely-packed bunches of moderate size with high sugar levels, which means they are particularly suitable for drying.

The grapes, harvested relatively late towards the end of October when they are slightly overripe, are placed in dry, well-ventilated rooms and dried on racks for about 120 days, until the end of February.
