2005 Lizzos Isola dei Nuraghi IGT

A lovely combination of two local grape varieties - Cannonau and Cagnulari - from the island of Sardinia. This is an up and coming winery which, in only its third vintage, has reached the attention of the finest judges in Italy.

"Lizzos" means "lilies" in the old Sardinian language.

Great flavour from this smooth and elegant wine.

Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red colour  with ripe red fruit aroma: cherries, blueberry, blackberry, redcurrants, with hints of pepper.  

Matching
It is ideal with roast meats, salami and sausages, mature and spicy pecorino cheese.

Winemaking Notes
Grapes: 90% Cagnulari, 10% Cannonau and other local varieties.
From vines with an average age of 25 years. Maceration of 10-12 days. Aged 9 months in bottle. Serve at 16-18C.
