This wine is dedicated to Fabivs de Vecchis, Bishop of Montalcino, who in 1672 built the Palazzo which houses the estate's headquarters and historic cellar.
A great wine produced as a stablemate to the famous Brunello and an award-winner in its own right.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby red colour; intense bouquet with a lovely blend of fruits and spices from the sweet wood in which it is aged. This wine is full-bodied and warm with a strong structure and smooth tannins. It expresses power, persistence, delicacy and great character.
Food Matching
A meditation wine to be opened on important occasions. It is also perfectly matched with stewed and roasted red meats, hare, wild boar and mature cheese
Open an hour before pouring and serve in crystal wine glasses. Bottles should be kept in a horizontal position, far from light sources and protected from both extremes and changes in temperature.
Winemaking Notes
Grape varietal : 100% Syrah. The French vines were planted in the “Del Conte” vineyard where there is an excellent terroir and microclimate that are particularly suited to this varietal.
It aged approximately 15 months in Allier and American oak barriques.
