1 Glass, Gambero Rosso 2009

A delicious late-harvest Moscato passito wine from 70 year-old vines.

This quality-focused producer is situated in the smallest DOC zone in Italy: Loazzolo DOC in the Piemonte region. The Moscato grapes are harvested late to allow full ripening and then laid out for drying and further concentration of the sugars.

Tasting Notes
Intense straw colour with golden highlights. Distinct aromas of dried fruit, apricots preserved in alcohol, quince and withered yellow flowers. Exceptional balance between sweetness and acidity allowing cellaring ability. Ripe tropical fruit and dried fruit notes.

Matching
Light blue vein cheeses, matured meats and salami; traditionally paired with biscuits and cakes.

Winemaking Notes
Raisined grapes are destemmed and very softly pressed. After brief fermentation in steel vats, the wine is matured for 2 years with at least 1 year in barriques.
