Award winning wine:
2* Veronelli 2012

1 Glass, Gambero Rosso 2012

From the south-western part of the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sardinia comes this lovely refreshing white wine.

The Vermentino grape variety is a speciality of the islanders, producing wines of elegance and balance. Here it enjoys the company of Nuragus, an old Sardinian favourite variety, to produce a well-coloured and flavourful wine.

The vineyards are located in municipalities of the lower Sulcis district in the south of the island.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant straw yellow colour, with green and golden tinges. Fresh and pleasant on the nose. A nice fresh finish on the palate, together with an attractive mineral note.

Matching
Best with seafood first courses and white meat. Especially pleasant when served very cool, also as an aperitif.

Winemaking Notes
Grapes: 70% Vermentino, 30% Nuragus.
Harvesting in phases starts in early September. The hand-picked grapes are soft-pressed, and the must obtained is fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature, so as to preserve fragrance and aromas. The wine is then left in contact with its lees for several months before being bottled.
