2009 Mastro Rosso IGT

Gorgeous young red from this famous winery.

The grapes are taken from vineyards at around 350 metres above sea level and these volcanic soils produce some special fruit throughout the region. The expertise of the winemaker is evident here in this judicious blend of the powerful Aglianico grape and the lighter Piedirosso.

Tasting Notes
Dark ruby red in colour; fruity notes of strawberry and cherry, plus pepper and cinnamon notes; delightful hints of amarena in a well-rounded flavourful wine with a nice finish.

Ideal with simple Mediterranean styled dishes.

Winemaking Notes
Harvest late October. Vinification in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At least one month in bottle before release.
