2009 Nebbiolo Terrazze Retiche di Sondrio IGT

Lovely mountain red from the far north of the Lombardy region. Here in the Valtellina district, the famous Nebbiolo grape variety is more often called Chiavennasca.

Winemaking Notes
Grapes harvested in late October from south-facing vineyards in the Valgella and Sasella zones. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks for two weeks including maceration for 6 days. Malolactic fermentation is followed by ageing in French barriques for 12 months.
