Gorgeous rich southern red from a classy Antinori winery.
This wine takes its unusual name from the first 3 letters of each of its constituent grape varieties: Negroamaro, Primitivo and Cabernet Sauvignon.
It displays all the class you would expect of a winery owned by the famous Tuscan Antinori family yet reflects the richness of fruit you might also look for from a wine produced this far south.
Tasting Notes
Red fruits, black cherry and notes of violets on the nose. On the palate, the spice of the Negroamaro is complemented by the juicy plum jam flavours of Primitivo, resulting in a soft and well-balanced wine.
Winemaking Notes
The three varieties were vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, at a maximum of 26ºC. There was an 8-10 day maceration period followed by the malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in steel tanks for about 8 months and spent 4 months in bottle before release.
