2006 Barbaresco DOCG

Barbaresco is one of the finest Italian red wines, produced solely from the difficult Nebbiolo grape variety, as is its more famous sister wine Barolo.

The Produttori del Barberesco is a co-operative winery supplied by more than 50 independent growers working some of the finest land around the town of Barbaresco. They only make Nebbiolo-based wines.

Tasting Notes
Deep dark red almost inky colour in the glass. Gorgeous perfume of blackberries and light tobacco notes. Smooth on the palate yet robust flavours of forest fruits, surprisingly delicate and well-balanced tannins, great length on the finish.

Winemaking Notes
Traditional methods of vinification: long maceration on the skins of up to 3 weeks is followed by a lengthy period of maturation in large (20-30 hectolitre) oak barrels.
