Our Commitment to You
We understand that your privacy and the security of your personal information is of paramount importance and something which we are 100% committed to safeguarding. We do this in the following ways.
As required by law, we only collect information which is necessary for the completion of a particular transaction on the website. We may ask for additional information which might be useful to us - such as a telephone number in case of problems with a purchase - but it is not mandatory to provide such information. We do not require any personal information from you before you reach the checkout area of the site.
Credit card payment information in particular is not kept on Amordivino computer systems. It is encrypted at the time of transaction (see ‘Security Technology’ below) and then passed on immediately to your credit card company for the transaction to be authorised. Our payment service provider is committed to using the highest standards of security technology available at any time.
We guarantee that all information gathered by us will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. All current and future staff of Amordivino will be expected to sign a confidentiality agreement, agreeing to adhere to our strict privacy policies. No information you provide will ever be given to third parties, except with your express permission and approval. We also promise to treat any personal information you will have given us, such as email addresses, with respect. We will only use your email address to send you Amordivino marketing information if you expressly agree to it being used in this way. Even then we will endeavour not to bombard you with marketing information and you will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe from our database every time we send you a marketing email.
Security Technology
Amordivino is a secure website. Every time you enter a part of the site which requires you to give sensitive information such as credit card details, an icon which looks like a padlock will appear at the bottom of your browser window, indicating that a secure connection has been made which is different from the connection you normally make for browsing.
Any personal details you give at this stage will be encoded by powerful 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology (the most secure currently available) and is only then sent over the Internet, meaning that it can never be read by anyone other than your credit card company. Once your information has been transferred it is removed from the website. As a result buying goods over the Internet is much safer than giving out credit card details over the phone or in a restaurant.
Though we have complete confidence in the security of this system, we do understand that you may be uneasy ordering online, and we would therefore be pleased to accept orders over the phone on 01784 441965. Once payment has been validated and authorisation approved, we guarantee that your card details will be immediately destroyed. We advise that you do not send confidential credit card information to us via fax or email.
Ways in which we use the information you provide
The data you do provide us with will be used in the following ways:
-
To process transactions.
-
To register you on our website to make your website experience as efficient as possible.
-
For the prevention and detection of fraud.
-
For assessment and analysis. We do keep records of our customers’ previous orders and will analyse the way our customers use the website. This may include information about the technology you are using and the websites you were browsing before visiting Amordivino. The data thus collected will be used to develop and improve our products and services. This includes being able to target you with specific marketing information about products, services and special offers which we think may be of interest to you. You will always have an option to unsubscribe from any such marketing initiatives and we guarantee not to pass on any such information to third parties.
-
To administer any prize draws or competitions you may have entered.
Please note that while we will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal details, we cannot guarantee the security of data you disclose on-line. We will therefore not be held responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to our negligence or wilful default.
Under the Data Protection Act you have a right to see any personal records we keep about you, as long as you send us a written request. Please contact us on: customerservices@amordivino.co.uk or on 01784 441965 if you have any concerns about the information we hold about you.
If you do not agree with any aspect of our privacy policies, you should not submit personal information to the site.
