450 Million Euros to improve the quality of European wine
The European commission will assign 450 billion euros for conversion and improvement of European vineyards for the new agricultural period 2005/2006, having already assigned 2.1 billion euros during the previous five years. Spain will receive 151 million euros, France 106, and Italy 100. The European Commission’s priorities are the improvement of the quality of the vines and the balancing of supply and demand.
