Gerardo Cesari SpA has been selected as Italian Wine Producer of the Year 2006 by the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition. Cesari won the same award in 2004. Recognition of their sustained outstanding performance.

Gerardo Cesari  founded the company in 1936, creating the the soul of Cesari, which means care for tradition. His successors continue on the same line today, as an expression of distinction, with the very same passion.

The vineyards are located in the gentle hills in the province of Verona, such as S. Pietro in Cariano, where 40 company-owned hectars give birth to the Amarone. In the early sixties Gerardo’s son Franco became directly involved in the company. This event was accompanied by exports to foreign markets, first England then Germany and, in the following years, to larger and prestigious international markets.
The range of classics like Amarone, Valpolicella, Bardolino, Soave was extended to include other vines of international reknown as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet, all coming from 100 hectares of vineyards, partly owned by the company and in part by other winegrowers, who operate under the careful control of Cesari’s agronomists.
The Company continuity is represented, in everyday activity, by the new wine cellars at Cavaion Veronese. It is here that the classic wines are produced, refined in wood and bottled with procedures that absolutely respect their most fundamental nature. All of which gives rise to that “soul’ that guarantee of consistency which is itself a virtue. From this is derived the quality and service offered by Cesari, invigorated by the vital initiative skills of new collaborators, which can only encourage, in connoisseurs of “good drinking’ those feelings of intimacy, friendship and good cheer that are the very essence of excellent wines.
