Adriano Adami
A typical story of an Italian winemaking family perhaps, as the late Adriano Adami followed his father so his sons have followed in his footsteps. Brothers Armando and Franco are both trained oenologists making fine sparkling wines from the Prosecco grape variety in the Valdobbiadene zone of the eastern Veneto, an area known as Marca Trevigiana. The Adami family have owned their vineyards here since 1920. Shaped as an amphitheatre, and exposed to the south, the shallow calcareous soil is set on underlying bedrock, with occasional outcrops. It is the constant care and attention that exalts the "cru" quality of this vineyard. As long ago as 1933, grandfather Abele's wines were recognised for their outstanding quality, and this tradition is continued today.
