The winery is situated in the old picturesque village, Girlan, just to the south-west of the regional capital of Bolzano in the middle of South Tyrol's largest wine growing area, Überetsch. It is a family business founded in 1852 and is now run by husband-and-wife team Josef and Erika Niedermayr. They devote themselves to the traditional production of classic South Tyrol wines, a dedication which has seen them gain awards in the international arena. They are particularly proud of the special wines they produce from grapes grown in their own vineyards.
