Salcheto
Salcheto is a relatively new winery, founded in 1984 but only producing its first wines in 1990. From the outset the strategy has been to follow the concept of quality, both in the vineyard and the cellar, with an unfailing respect for the character of both grapes and wines. This outlook was reinforced with the arrival, in 1997, of Michele Manelli onto the Salcheto scene. The Salcheto estate covers a total of 46 hectares, of which 30 hectares are vineyards, all situated at an average altitude that is among the highest in the area, at around 450 metres.
