Il Palagione farm is located on the last hill on the medieval town of San Gimignano, along the Volterra panoramic road. Documents at episcopal archives of Colle Val d'Elsa confirm it already existed in 1594. This estate belonged to those land properties around Castel San Gimignano.
The farm is situated on the top of the hill 320 mt above the sea level. It has an area of 40 hectares: 10 hectares are use for specialised vineyards; 3 hectares are olive groves; 7 for walnuts and cherries orchards; the remaining areas are woods and pastures. Not far from here a wine cellar was built: it is equipped with the most modern machines for processing grapes softly and delicately. Under the soil, in a tufaceous area, a room with barriques has been created to get the best and most natural wine preservation in oak kegs and a balnaced ageing in the bottle.
