The Agricoltori del Geografico is an association originally consisting of 17 growers, formed in 1961, with the avowed intention of improving the quality of the Chianti wines from their geographical region. This is now a co-operative concern with about 200 members, but this growth has not changed the philosophy which has brought the group such success in recent years. From the start, they put in place clear strategies and well-defined processes to deliver not just better fruit and better wine, but better marketing and sales operations which remain distinctive to this day. Producing a good quality range of classic Tuscan wines, the name Geografico is today widely recognised as one of the foremost co-operative producers in Tuscany.
