Car.Pan.Te Usini

Founded early in 2003, this is a young and dynamic wine-producing company whose partners gained significant experience in the field of viniculture prior to this project.

The vineyards are situated in the village of Usini, a village in the north west of Sardinia. This is an undulating terrain, on average 200 metres above sea level. The loamy and semi-calcareous soil, along with the ideal exposure to sunlight and sea breezes, confer upon the wines particular perfumes, scents and flavours.

Already producing quality wines, these gentlemen are aiming for the highest standards of Sardinian winemaking, which is quite a goal. This winery is one to watch.

The Carpante vineyards are at an average altitude of 200 metres above sea level.  The loamy and semi-calcareous soil along with the geographically ideal location of the vines, in terms of exposure to sunlight, confer the wines special perfumes, scents and flavours.

There is a kind of poetic bond between the natural habitat of the vines and the first two wines produced by the winery.

Frinas is the name of the white wine and this means "breeze" in the Sardinian language.
Lizzos is the name of the red wine, which translates to "lilies".

The winemakers here managed to harness the extraordinarily hot summer of their first year to make wines which, though high in alcohol, are easy-drinking as well as full-bodied.  They have been earmarked for great things by the Italian wine media.
