Bruno Broglia did so much to improve the quality and prestige of the white wine in the Gavi area of Piemonte that, in 1998, Gavi di Gavi won DOCG status - the highest classification in Italy and one enjoyed by few white wines. Bruno's son Piero is continuing the good work and the estate La Meirana is one of the most famous in the zone.
