Masciarelli
This winery is amongst the shining beacons of winemaking in the Abruzzo region. Since 1981 when Gianni Masciarelli took over this winery, sited in a tiny village 420 metres above sea level, his wines have gained almost cult status. The Masciarelli vineyards now comprise 270 hectares of prime land in different provinces of the region. Sadly, Gianni Masciarelli passed away in August 2008, leaving his widow Marina Cvetic to carry on his notable work producing top quality wines.
"At least once in a lifetime I believe each and every one of us has uttered the words Why am I doing this? I find the answer to that question lies in my family's destiny, in the love I hold for my land and the satisfaction I derive from my work." Gianni Masciarelli
