Cantina di Santadi
The Santadi winery has managed to blend advanced technology with winemaking tradition, a coupling which in recent years has done much to enhance the reputation of Sardinian wines. Founded in 1960, this co-operative winery comprises some 300 members who cultivate about 500 hectares of vineyards in the lower Sulcis area in the south of the island, a zone rich in sandy soils where the plants grow free-standing and produce superb Carignano grapes in particular - the heart of great reds of quality and elegance. Santadi also uses Vermentino and Nuragus grape varieties to make some stylish whites displaying all the freshness of the island viticulture.
